Hi all -
It's been a while. This is what happens when you have kids. You loose all free time. Plus it doesn't help when you get incredibly busy with work.
So in the fall, I was in Toronto working on a stereo conversion of "The Feature that Shall not Be Named"...many of you already know what it is, but I just can't say it here. Then I got back and it has been non stop. Decided to concentrate my efforts on more VFX type work a while back and I ended up working on shots for Royal Pains, Blue Bloods, Rescue Me and a few features like Salvation Boulevard which premiered at Sundance.
Because of this change in concentration, it's been a bit difficult getting the right projects. It's like changing careers. Even though I've been doing this for a long time. So finally, after a year and a half, I had some free time (and the shows aired, allowing me to use the material) and updated my reel. COMPLETELY re-edited it. All VFX work now and more than half is new. See it here. Minor thing, but my reel is finally in widescreen. There's no more shots that were made in standard defintion (like the old TV's - 720 x 540). Everything is HD (1920 x 1080) or higher. There were a few legacy shots where I had to restore the project and rerender them in HD since the old reel's source material didn't work.
I spent the last few weeks working on a feature here in NY, Arthur. Remake of the old Dudley Moore film. Apple has a trailer on their site. Click here or the graphic below to view it. It's not a bad trailer...it actually looks like fun.
Finally, my heart goes out to the people of Japan, a place I once called home. It's easy to forget about reality when you spend all day helping to create fantasy.
Enjoy...
- Luciano
