Hi all -
On
Friday, May 21, 2010, at 8:56 AM, Alison and I welcomed into the world our second daughter, weighing in at
8 lbs even and 21.5 inched long, Giuliana Josephine DiGeronimo. Yes, that was 10 days ago, but we've been finding ourselves a little busy. It took us 2 days to see the finally of "Lost".
We thought the labor for Paloma was fast, this time it was 3 hours from start to finish. We barely made it to the hospital. By the time I parked the car and came in, the party had started. No complications and everyone is doing great.
In fact, one of the first "goals", if you will, once you bring the baby home is to get them back to their birth weight (they lose a little by the time you leave the hospital). While we are talking about the equivalent of a few paper clips, it could take 2 weeks for this to happen especially when exclusively breast feeding. Giuliana got it back in 4 days.
Plus, I'm man enough to admit I almost passed out in the end. After I proclaimed "it's a girl" (yes, it was a surprise), I became light headed and had to sit down. Truly, while it is an overwhelming experience when your child is born, the prospect of living with 4 girls would bring any man to his knees ;). That's right...four. Even the dog is a girl.
