Hi all -
Yeah
it's been a while, but I've been busy. I know I said that
I would put up images of the toys...and I haven't been able
to do that. I did decide not to e-bay them (at least not
all at once) because there really is no market for them...they
aren't moving very well, not even on e-bay. So because of
this and several other reasons, it wasn't worth the effort.
I still want to sell them, it's just not a priority right
now.
I've updated the site.
-
I re-encoded all the video with the
H.264 codec...so quicktime 7 is required for all video clips. It's
so much better than sorenson (qt 6). I was able to get the
clips at much better quality and either larger resolution or
75% smaller file size.
-
added Zombie
Prom (3 clips) to the compositor
page.
- added Disney
Navigations (16 clips) to the compositor
page.
-
my reel is also updated and is at a huge 640 x 480
resolution.
- added a clip of an old embarrassing project that you can
find it if you know where to look ;).
- added the full versions of several shorts (the one's that
are only "clips" of) that you can find if you know what
to type. I'm not advertising this one, so that's the only
hint you're getting.
Another bit of news is I'm teaching an animation course.
It's called Animation II at Stevens
Institute of Technology in Hoboken,
NJ. I'm going to try and teach the fundamentals of animation
using Maya, as opposed to just teaching the function of every
button in that program, which is what every other course
does.
Bit of big news I just heard about
today. Disney just bought Pixar. I've been hearing rumblings
about this for a little
while, but now
it's
official.
For those that don't know,
Pixar is the company that made Toy Story, Finding
Nemo and The Incredibles (and others). For years I've been
telling people that it was Pixar, not Disney, that made those
films...Disney just distributed them. While
there is a concern that Disney will ruin a great thing like
Pixar, the best thing about this is John Lasseter will run
feature animation AND Imageneering. An animator in charge
of the creative...what a wonderful thing. Since Eisner is
now gone from Disney, I can only hope that this is all a
good thing...since the general consensus is that he's the
reason for the downfall of
Disney over
the last
10 years.
Enjoy...
- Luciano
